Frequently Asked Questions

  • Therapy can support a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, relationship challenges, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck. It can also offer space for self-exploration, personal growth, and developing emotional resilience.

  • I provide integrative therapy for children and young people aged 5 to 18 years, and EMDR therapy for young people and adults aged 15+

  • Integrative therapy means I draw from a range of approaches to suit yours or your child’s individual needs. This flexible way of working allows therapy to be tailored specifically to you, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a therapy that helps process trauma and distressing experiences. It can reduce the emotional intensity of difficult memories and support healing in a safe, structured way.

  • It’s completely normal to feel unsure about starting therapy. If you’re wondering whether therapy might help, we can talk it through together.

I offer a free initial telephone conversation where we can briefly discuss what you’re looking for, any questions you may have, and whether working together might feel like the right fit. There is no obligation to continue, and it can be a helpful first step in deciding what feels right for you.

  • That’s absolutely okay. Starting therapy is a personal decision, and it’s important that you feel comfortable and that it’s the right fit for you.

You’re under no obligation to continue after an initial session or conversation. If it doesn’t feel right, we can think together about other options or approaches that might suit you better.

  • The first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you might need. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels right.

  • Yes, therapy is confidential. There are some limits to this, such as if there are serious concerns about safety. This would always be discussed with you wherever possible.

  • I offer in-person therapy in Brighton and Hove and online sessions, depending on your preference.

  • This varies for each person. Some people attend short-term therapy, while others choose longer-term support. We will review this together as we go.

  • I offer a limited number of concessional fee places, depending on availability. Please feel free to ask about this when you get in touch.
